Aim(s):
To uncover the long-term effectiveness of implants for all implant types, identification of orthopaedic best practice and to ensure that patients obtain the best clinical care during and following their joint replacement operation.

Results:

• Secure and robust system created for data capture and analysis.
• Total hip operations recorded on the NJR - 97,237.
• Total knee operations recorded on the NJR - 186,919.
• 402 (98.3%) hospitals submitted data to the NJR.
• 200,000 requests for page or document downloads per year.
